Who are we ?
I am Charlene, the coordinator of your study program.
A passionate French teacher who loves languages, meeting new people… and the ocean! After spending several years teaching French here and abroad, I settled in the Landes region to start French Break—a small, intimate French school inspired by my travels, my passions, and my desire to teach in a unique way.
My approach
With my round glasses and my (almost) cliché teacher’s bun, I assume my style, my humor and my rigor. It’s often said that I’m discreet, but my students know that I never miss an opportunity to laugh or make others laugh! Demanding but benevolent, I deeply believe that learning a language should be both serious and joyful.
Why I created French Break
Because I’ve always dreamed of bringing together what makes me tick and drives me:
– the French language, as a bridge between cultures
– teaching, to accompany and watch my students grow
– the (eau)céan, as an inspiring and soothing backdrop
– and above all … human sharing, at the heart of it all

Learning a language isn’t just about memorizing rules. It’s about daring to express yourself, making mistakes, laughing and growing together. It’s a human adventure. It’s about discovering yourself, opening up and feeling at ease in a welcoming and stimulating environment.
